Speaking at the centenary celebrations of the Maharashtra legislative council, Dhankhar highlighted the importance of debate and dialogue in a thriving democracy. He lamented that such dialogues were currently missing between political parties.
Dhankhar, who also serves as the chairman of the Rajya Sabha, added that disruption and lack of decorum in parliamentary proceedings are detrimental to democracy. He stressed the importance of respecting the presiding officers and being open to different points of view.
