Sharad Pawar, chief of the Nationalist Congress Party (SP), confidently announced on Thursday that the opposition is projected to secure 225 out of 288 seats in the forthcoming Maharashtra assembly elections.
While addressing party workers, Pawar highlighted the dramatic improvement in the opposition's performance, citing their increase from six Lok Sabha seats in 2019 to 31 in the 2024 edition.
He affirmed that Maharashtra is currently in the wrong hands and that the recent Lok Sabha results indicate a public desire for change, with the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance—comprising the Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress, and NCP (SP)—winning 30 out of 48 seats in the state.
