Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta has dismissed the Congress Party's plea for the disqualification of Kiran Choudhry as a member of Vidhan Sabha on technical grounds.
Kiran Choudhry, alongside her daughter Shruti Choudhry, resigned from the primary membership of the Congress last month to join the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The dismissal was due to the plea not meeting the criteria set by the 'Disqualification of Members on the Ground of Defection Rules, 1986', as stated in a formal statement released in Hindi.
