West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has questioned the stability of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre, suggesting it may not complete its term. During a press conference in Mumbai with Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray after meeting him, Banerjee criticized the Centre over three new criminal laws enacted on July 1.

She clarified her party's position on the 'Emergency' from 1975-77, indicating opposition to those draconian times while condemning the NDA’s decision to declare June 25 as 'Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas'. Banerjee emphasized that no consultations were made when the contentious laws were passed in Parliament.

Banerjee also argued it was unethical to strip the Thackeray faction of the Shiv Sena of its name and symbol. She pledged support for Thackeray in the upcoming Maharashtra assembly polls. Later, she met NCP president Sharad Pawar, another key leader of the INDIA bloc.
