DMK Triumphs in Vikravandi Bypoll

The ruling DMK won the bypoll for the Vikravandi Assembly constituency by 67,757 votes. Anniyur Siva alias A Sivashanmugam led the victory, while NDA's Pattali Makkal Katchi came second with 56,296 votes. The by-election was due to DMK legislator N Pugazhenthi's death in April.

In a decisive victory, the ruling DMK triumphed in the bypoll to the Vikravandi Assembly constituency on Saturday, securing the seat by a margin of 67,757 votes.

Anniyur Siva alias A Sivashanmugam of the DMK maintained a consistent lead throughout the vote-counting process, ultimately widening the gap between him and his closest competitor, PMK's C Anbumani.

The by-election was necessitated by the demise of DMK legislator N Pugazhenthi in April. The victory continues DMK's successful streak in Tamil Nadu, following their sweep in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
