DMK Candidate Anniyur Siva Triumphs in Vikravandi By-Poll

DMK's Anniyur Siva wins Vikravandi by-poll with a sizable margin. Thanking Chief Minister MK Stalin, Siva promises to focus on people’s welfare. CM Stalin remarks on DMK’s development achievements and criticizes BJP's recent failures.

After clinching the Vikravandi by-poll seat, DMK candidate Anniyur Siva announced on Saturday his commitment to prioritize the welfare of the people. Siva expressed gratitude to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK Chief MK Stalin for the opportunity to contest, pledging responsibility towards the Vikravandi community.

In a decisive victory, Siva accumulated 1,24,053 votes, defeating Pattali Makkal Katchi's candidate, Anbumani C, by a margin of 67,757 votes. Chief Minister Stalin highlighted that the state's electorate recognizes DMK as a catalyst for development.

Commenting on broader political dynamics, Stalin noted that the INDIA Alliance leads in 11 out of 13 by-elections nationwide, while the BJP has suffered losses. He stressed that BJP's inability to secure a majority in parliament reflects poorly on their governance approach, urging them to respect state sentiments moving forward.

Stalin further emphasized that the recent Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu, where the DMK-led INDIA alliance swept all 40 constituencies, signaled a substantial defeat for AIADMK and BJP. Despite anticipating defeat, the BJP-led alliance engaged in damaging propaganda against DMK, which failed to sway voters, he pointed out.

The Chief Minister asserted that voters rejected the BJP's tactics of hatred and misinformation, choosing instead to support DMK for the state's development. Stalin concluded that the electorate's choice affirms DMK as the sole party capable of fostering progress.
