At a Pennsylvania rally on Saturday, former US President Donald Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt. The US Secret Service confirmed that at around 6:15 PM, a gunman fired multiple shots from an elevated position outside the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Secret Service agents quickly escorted Trump to safety and neutralized the shooter, who is now deceased. Trump, 78, was unharmed but was seen with blood on his face and ear, raising his hand towards his neck as he left the venue. The attack has received widespread condemnation from political leaders including President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a man armed with a rifle on a nearby rooftop before multiple shots rang out. The Secret Service has notified the FBI and the investigation is ongoing. Leaders emphasized that violence has no place in American politics, calling for unity against such acts. Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Republican figures also expressed their support for Trump.
