Yogi Adityanath Cites Overconfidence in BJP’s Electoral Setbacks

Speaking at a BJP working committee meeting, he discussed vote shifts, social media's impact, and emphasized unity. Adityanath urged party workers to prepare actively for upcoming assembly by-elections and the 2027 elections.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath blamed 'overconfidence' for the BJP's recent electoral losses in the Lok Sabha polls. Addressing a BJP working committee meeting, he noted that despite maintaining previous vote shares, the party suffered from vote shifts. 'Overconfidence hurt our hopes,' he stated, while addressing party members.

Adityanath highlighted new challenges from a rejuvenated opposition and emphasized the need for unity. He warned against dividing society along caste lines and insisted that social media played a role in spreading oppositional conspiracies. 'We need to counteract false information and uphold our nationalist vision,' he said.

Looking ahead, Adityanath called on BJP workers to be vigilant and active, gearing up for imminent assembly by-elections and the 2027 elections. 'We have to hoist the flag of BJP in the state once again,' he emphasized. He also praised law and order improvements and the eradication of encephalitis under his governance.
