Amid tight security, the convention commenced in Wisconsin. The event took place soon after a gunman fired at Trump during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, grazing his ear.

Dhillon, also a Civil Rights Attorney, discussed the attack, stating, 'The heinous attack on President Trump and his supporters made all of us pause and seek answers in comfort.' She shared a Sikh prayer to express gratitude and seek protection for the nation.
