Samajwadi Party (SP) MPs on Friday paid a visit to the iconic Siddhivinayak temple and Mani Bhavan Gandhi Museum in Mumbai.

The lawmakers, led by Akhilesh Yadav, also visited Chaitya Bhoomi in Dadar, the cremation site of Dr B R Ambedkar.

The visit comes just months before the Maharashtra assembly elections, with Awadhesh Prasad—who recently defeated a BJP candidate in Uttar Pradesh’s Faizabad—joining the delegation. The SP, part of the opposition INDIA bloc, is keen to improve its standing in Maharashtra, where it currently holds only two MLA seats.
