BJP MLA Fateh Bahadur Singh has alleged that a party worker plotted to kill him and has requested intervention from Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Singh, serving his seventh term from Campierganj, made these claims to reporters on Thursday.

According to Singh, BJP worker Rajiv Ranjan Chaudhary allegedly offered a contract worth Rs 5 crore to have him killed. However, Chaudhary has denied these accusations, countering that it is Singh who wants him dead. Chaudhary is the son of Saroj Devi, a BJP district panchayat member.

Police have launched an investigation following Singh's complaint. Despite having Y+ category security, Singh criticized the police for inaction. He revealed that an assassin informed him of a contract on his life, and while he reported this to authorities, no significant action was taken. Gorakhpur DM Krishna Karunesh and SSP Gaurav Grover confirmed thorough checks are being conducted and multiple teams, including the Special Task Force (STF), are involved.
