YSRCP chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy announced on Friday that his party will hold a peaceful protest in New Delhi on July 24. This demonstration aims to highlight the 'lawlessness and anarchy' that Reddy claims has plagued Andhra Pradesh since the NDA came to power.

Appointments have been sought with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Droupadi Murmu, and Home Minister Amit Shah to inform them of the deteriorating law-and-order situation in the state due to alleged atrocities by the TDP-led government, according to Reddy.

'We will be holding a peaceful protest in New Delhi on July 24 to draw the nation’s attention to the lawlessness and anarchy in Andhra Pradesh since the Chandrababu Naidu regime took over,' Reddy said on social media platform X.

YSRCP MLAs, MPs, and MLCs will participate in the New Delhi protest. The former chief minister accused the new TDP-BJP-Janasena regime of trying to 'kill democracy' in the state, stating that the YSRCP will not tolerate it.

Reddy alleged that there have been 36 political murders and 300 murder attempts within the first two months of Naidu's tenure. Additionally, he mentioned that 37 people have died by suicide due to harassment by the TDP.

The opposition leader suggested that President's rule should be imposed in the state due to these conditions.

On Friday, Reddy visited Vinukonda in Palnadu to meet with the family of slain YSRCP activist Sheik Rashid, who was murdered on Wednesday night.

The YSRCP claims that the murder suspect, Sheik Jilani, is an active member of Chandrababu Naidu's TDP, a claim which the ruling party has denied.

Speaking to reporters outside Rashid's home, Reddy contended that the police had tried to attribute the murder to personal motives rather than political ones, calling it a 'deliberate act to instill fear across the state.' He also accused the police of targeting the victims instead of the perpetrators.

Reddy demanded an apology from Naidu and insisted that the state government should also protect those who did not vote for the TDP.
