Shatrughan Sinha of the TMC took oath as a Lok Sabha member on Monday, becoming the final winning candidate to be sworn in for this term.
The actor-turned-politician's name was called out by the secretary general as soon as the House convened for the day. Sinha, representing the Asansol seat in West Bengal, took his oath in Hindi in the name of God.
In June, during the first session of the Lok Sabha, Sinha was unable to take his oath as a member. With him now sworn in, all 542 members have taken their oaths, leaving one vacancy after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi vacated the Wayanad seat in Kerala while choosing to retain Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh.
