President Edgar Lungu visits Congo Brazzaville to attend Heads of State Summit

Zambia's President Edgar Lungu is currently in Congo Brazzaville ahead of Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) and The International Conference of the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) heads of State Summit.

The Head of State was welcomed by Congo Brazzaville Prime Minister Clema Mwamba, Zambia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Joseph Malanji and other government officials. He is likely join other Heads of State at the joint SADC and ICGLR heads of State summit. He (who is also the chairperson of the SADC Organ of Defense and Politics) is said to return to Zambia after the meeting.

President Edgar Lungu is very concerned with the latest happenings in the DRC, hence he wants to observe a peaceful electoral process which will lead to credible results. He is hopeful that security will be provided to all the candidates and citizens ahead of the elections on December 30. The leaders are also seeking forward to see a peaceful election in the DRC.
