Opposition MP's Decry Discrimination in Union Budget

Members of the INDIA bloc led by prominent leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge staged a protest in Parliament, criticizing the Union Budget for allegedly discriminating against opposition-ruled states. They argue the budget undermines India's federal structure and fails to deliver justice to all states.

Members of the INDIA bloc staged a significant protest in Parliament on Wednesday, expressing their outrage over what they describe as discriminatory allocations in the Union Budget. Leading the charge, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi denounced the budget as an 'assault on the sanctity of India's federal structure'.

The protest drew several prominent figures, including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress Parliamentary Party chief Sonia Gandhi, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. Protesters carried placards with messages such as 'We want India budget, not NDA budget' and 'NDA betrays India in Budget'.

Highlighting the perceived injustices, Kharge claimed the budget is 'anti-people' and accused the government of failing to grant a special status while dispensing special packages. The outcry also saw participation from members of the TMC, DMK, and the Left, among others.
