West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is breaking ranks with the INDIA bloc's boycott of the NITI Aayog meeting. BJP MP Jagannath Sarkar asserted that her presence is inconsequential, but criticized her administration for allegedly depriving North Bengal. He emphasized that all states should partake in the meeting.

Upon her arrival in New Delhi, Banerjee met with Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, ahead of the NITI Aayog meeting set for July 27. Banerjee vowed to confront political discrimination at the Saturday gathering, citing bias against Bengal and opposition-led states in the Union budget.

Banerjee accused BJP leaders of seeking to divide Bengal while imposing economic and geographical blockades. She said their divisive statements extend to other states like Jharkhand, Bihar, and Assam, which she firmly condemned. Her decision to attend the meeting signifies a departure from other opposition leaders who are boycotting.

The NITI Aayog meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will include Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors, Union Ministers as Ex-officio Members and Special Invitees, alongside the Vice Chairman and Members of NITI Aayog.
