BJP Leader M Master Mathan Passes at Age 91

BJP leader and former Nilgiris MP, M Master Mathan, passed away at the age of 91 due to age-related ailments. His contributions to society and the upliftment of marginalized communities were widely acknowledged by leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president J P Nadda.

Mathan, a prominent leader of the backward Badaga community, died on the night of July 26 at his Coimbatore residence due to age-related ailments. He is survived by his wife, two sons, and a daughter.

First elected to the Lok Sabha in 1998 from the Nilgiris constituency and reelected in 1999, Mathan also served as the Tamil Nadu BJP vice-president and as a member of Parliamentary committees including one on agriculture. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president J P Nadda both expressed their condolences, highlighting his dedication to society and the party.
