Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s absence from the recent NITI Aayog meeting in Delhi has ignited a political storm. The CPI(ML) Liberation, a member of the INDIA bloc, alleged that Kumar skipped the crucial meeting due to embarrassment over the Centre's refusal to grant special category status to Bihar.
The party also accused the NDA-led central government of misleading the public regarding a special package for the state. In response, they announced plans for protest marches next month to highlight their grievances. Meanwhile, JD(U) leaders, including the party president and CM Kumar, have remained silent on the issue.
CPI(ML) Leader, Mehboob Alam, criticized Kumar’s decision, stating it was a missed opportunity to address key issues, including the inclusion of Bihar's amended reservation laws in the ninth schedule of the Constitution. Another CPI(ML) MLA, Ajeet Kumar Singh, echoed similar sentiments, suggesting that Kumar’s absence indicates a lack of concern for the state’s welfare.
