Anurag Thakur, BJP MP, has accused opposition-ruled states of deliberately skipping the Niti Aayog meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Thakur criticized their absence, stating that the platform is meant for productive discussions on policy-making, not for political games.

Chief ministers from Congress-ruled Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, and Telangana, along with those from Tamil Nadu, Punjab, and Kerala, missed the meeting held on July 27. Thakur alleged that their absence was a political maneuver rather than a genuine boycott.

Thakur also addressed Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s allegations that the Union Budget ignored Punjab, clarifying that the budget encompasses all states without discrimination. Furthermore, he criticized AAP's handling of Delhi’s administration following the tragic deaths of three students due to basement flooding at a coaching center.
