Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday accused Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman of misleading the public regarding the state's financial allocations in the recent Union Budget. He criticized the BJP-led NDA government for not including promised funds for key projects, terming it an injustice to Karnataka.
Siddaramaiah alleged that the BJP was attempting to tarnish Congress-ruled Karnataka as corrupt. He announced plans to travel to New Delhi with Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar to discuss party and government issues with the Congress high command.
The Chief Minister questioned the absence of promised funds for the Upper Bhadra project, peripheral ring road in Bengaluru, and development of water bodies, amounting to Rs 11,795 crore. He also dismissed Sitharaman's claims of improving law and order and attracting industries, citing no new industry in key constituencies and a significant drop in foreign direct investment.
