Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced on Monday that the ruling Congress will tackle opposition BJP and JD(S)' week-long foot march from Bengaluru to Mysuru, protesting an alleged scam in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) and financial irregularities in a state-run corporation.
Home Minister G Parameshwara stated that although the police will not give official permission for the foot march, they will not obstruct it either. 'We will face it politically' Siddaramaiah said, adding that a judicial commission has been formed to investigate the matter.
Responding to the accusations, Siddaramaiah accused the BJP of blackmailing and lying, challenging their stance on social justice, secularism, democracy, and the constitution. He also mentioned that compensatory plots were allotted to his wife Parvathi in an upscale Mysuru area, a move currently under judicial review.
