Vice President Kamala Harris made her first trip to Georgia as a presidential candidate on Tuesday, rallying with rapper Megan Thee Stallion in Atlanta.

With less than 100 days until Election Day, Democrats are aggressively polling and strategizing in swing states. Kamala Harris is set to rally supporters at 7:00 p.m. EDT in Atlanta. Georgia, a battleground state, barely turned blue in 2020 and is seen as crucial for a Democratic win in 2024.

Senator Jon Ossoff noted that Harris's candidacy puts Georgia in play, with recent polls showing her closing in on former President Donald Trump. Harris has already raised $200 million and signed up 170,000 new volunteers.

While a New York Times/Siena College poll saw Harris narrowing Trump's lead, Harris has made significant gains in support among young people, Black voters, and Hispanic voters. Harris's campaign is also considering potential vice presidential candidates, with a decision expected by August 7.

Harris is leveraging her experience as a former district attorney and California attorney general to contrast with Trump, who faces felony charges for attempting to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.
