Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers on Tuesday damaged the car of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLC Amol Mitkari in Akola following his criticism of MNS chief Raj Thackeray for targeting Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar over recent water-logging in Pune.

Police have lodged an FIR against 13 MNS workers, including the Akola district women's wing president, on various charges, including unlawful assembly and mischief by injury, under the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), according to an official statement.

Mitkari, a staunch supporter of Ajit Pawar and an NCP spokesperson, alleged that around 30 to 40 MNS workers vandalized his car near the government guesthouse in Akola city. Thackeray had earlier criticized Ajit Pawar for flooding in Pune due to dam discharge amid heavy rain, to which Mitkari responded, labeling Thackeray as the most unsuccessful person in Maharashtra politics.
