Tension Escalates Between MNS and NCP Over Water-logging Criticism

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers vandalized NCP MLC Amol Mitkari's car in Akola after he criticized MNS chief Raj Thackeray. Following the incident, MNS worker Jay Malokar died of a heart attack. Police registered an FIR against 13 MNS workers. NCP demanded legal action against Raj Thackeray for endorsing violence.

On Tuesday, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers severely damaged the vehicle of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLC Amol Mitkari in Akola. This act of vandalism followed Mitkari's criticism of MNS chief Raj Thackeray for targeting Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar over recent water-logging in Pune.

Jay Malokar, a 24-year-old participant in the vandalism, succumbed to a heart attack later that day at a government hospital in Akola. According to Sandeep Deshpande, MNS General Secretary, the heart attack occurred hours after the incident.

The police have filed an FIR against 13 MNS members, including the head of its Akola district women's wing, for unlawful assembly and various other charges. Meanwhile, NCP spokesperson Umesh Patil in Mumbai has demanded legal action against Raj Thackeray, accusing him of endorsing the violent behavior of his party workers.
