Tamil Nadu's main opposition party, the AIADMK, announced on Wednesday that it would provide Rs 1 crore in aid to neighboring Kerala, which is battling the aftermath of massive landslides in Wayanad district. The death toll from the calamity has now reached 167.
Edappadi K Palaniswami, AIADMK general secretary and former Chief Minister, expressed his party's commitment to contributing Rs 1 crore to assist the people hit by the heavy rains and landslides in Kerala. Additionally, the AIADMK plans to dispatch relief materials to those in need. Palaniswami conveyed his deep sorrow over the incident and extended condolences to the families of the victims.
