In a heated parliamentary debate on Thursday, Congress MP Mohammad Jawed accused the BJP of leveraging anti-Muslim, anti-Dalit, anti-poor, and anti-student sentiments to secure power. He argued that without Muslims, the ruling party would have no foothold.
Discussing the Education Ministry's budget, Jawed urged for the preservation of educational integrity, criticizing the erasure of Mughal history and discriminatory practices. He appealed for the reinstatement of schemes and scholarships for minority students, and highlighted a decline in the success rate of Muslim candidates in UPSC exams.
Conversely, BJP MP Tejasvi Surya commended the new National Education Policy and budget provisions aimed at youth empowerment and skill-building. He countered accusations of bias against OBCs, SCs, and STs, attributing such negligence to previous Congress-led governments.
