The LG office on Friday accused AAP leaders, including Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, of making ‘patently false, deliberately misleading, and blatantly improper’ statements regarding the drowning of a woman and her child in a DDA drain.
AAP leaders allege that the incident in East Delhi happened due to negligence by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and demand the resignation of the Lieutenant Governor (LG), who chairs the Authority. They have also scheduled a protest at the LG office on Saturday.
‘While this is undoubtedly another example of abuse and scoot typical of the AAP and its leadership, the fact of the matter is that the drain where the incident happened at Khoda colony is under the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), which is controlled by AAP,’ the LG office stated. The office also clarified that the DDA had recently de-silted its part of the drain and covered it.
