Karnataka's Home Minister G Parameshwara announced Monday that action will be taken against Congress MLA Chennareddy Patil Tunnur and his son if they are found guilty in the ongoing CID probe into the death of police sub-inspector Parashuram in Yadgir.
The government has also decided to provide a job to the deceased officer's wife, noted Parameshwara. Shweta, Parashuram's wife, has accused Tunnur and his son of causing mental harassment, demanding a Rs 30 lakh bribe, and hurling casteist abuse at her late husband, according to her complaint.
Leader of the Opposition R Ashoka has called for a CBI investigation into the death, alleging that the Congress government is attempting to shield its legislator.
