Bangladesh's death toll in anti-government protests surged to 440 after violent clashes following Sheikh Hasina's departure, according to local media. The army is actively working to control the chaos on the streets of the violence-stricken nation.

Signs of normalcy returned to Dhaka on Tuesday, with police and army patrolling the streets. Schools reopened after a prolonged closure due to protests over the divisive job quota system. Public transport resumed, and businesses gradually reopened.

Protests demanding Hasina's resignation erupted in several regions, leading to deadly clashes. In Dhaka alone, 37 bodies were brought to the medical hospital on Monday, and several government properties were vandalized. President Mohammed Shahabuddin has called for political parties to restore law and order immediately.
