Amidst rising internal dissent, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has scheduled a three-day delegate session at Sri Anandpur Sahib for the first week of November, aiming to shape its long-term future agenda.
Presided over by party president Sukhbir Singh Badal, the decision was made during a core committee meeting. The session will address critical matters such as injustices faced by Punjab, health, education, environment, the non-resident Indian community, and strategies to fortify federalism, as stated by party leader Daljit Singh Cheema.
The announcement comes in the wake of a faction of rebel leaders convening for electing new party officials. This move follows the party's poor performance in Punjab's Lok Sabha elections, leading key members to demand Sukhbir Badal's resignation.
