Kennedy's New York Residency Under Scrutiny Amid Presidential Bid
Barbara Moss testified in Albany court that independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. pays USD 500 a month for a room in her suburban New York home. The testimony is part of a lawsuit questioning Kennedy's New York residency, alleging he actually lives in Los Angeles. This could affect his candidacy in New York.
Barbara Moss stated in Albany court this Tuesday that independent presidential hopeful Robert F. Kennedy Jr. pays USD 500 monthly for a room in her suburban New York home. This testimony is part of an ongoing lawsuit that questions Kennedy's New York residency, asserting that he has lived in Los Angeles since 2014. The lawsuit seeks to invalidate his nominating petition, thus barring him from New York's ballot in November.
Moss, who has owned the property in Katonah since 1991, testified she has no written lease with Kennedy but affirmed that the arrangement is understood as long-term. Under questioning, she confirmed Kennedy regularly receives mail at the address and showed photos of his belongings in the room.
The case, driven by Clear Choice PAC, a group supporting Democratic President Joe Biden, claims Kennedy rarely actually lived in New York. Kennedy argues he has strong New York ties, leading an environmental group based there for decades and citing a temporary move to California due to his wife Cheryl Hines's career.
