Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has vowed to refill the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve if he wins another term in the White House this November.

In an interview with Fox News, Trump stated, "I was filling that up at levels that they've never seen before. We have to fill up the strategic reserves immediately."

This commitment comes as Democratic President Joe Biden's administration has been actively purchasing crude oil over the summer to replenish the reserve. This follows the historic sale from the stockpile in 2022, prompted by Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
