Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over financial losses incurred by the Delhi exchequer due to the ruling party's flawed liquor policy.

AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister is currently in jail facing multiple investigations related to the now-withdrawn liquor policy. During her reply to the discussion on the Finance Bill in Rajya Sabha, Sitharaman recalled AAP's past allegations against late Congress leader Sheila Dikshit, questioning why the purported evidence against her was never used.

The Finance Minister also responded to charges made by AAP leader Sanjay Singh regarding significant cuts taken by financial institutions in insolvency resolution cases, asserting the transparency and benefits of the insolvency process. Notably, Singh was absent from the House during her rebuttal.
