After facing his first political defeat, BJD president Naveen Patnaik has decided to embark on a statewide tour in November to connect with people and party workers.
This decision emerged during the BJD's first state coordination committee meeting on Thursday, chaired by senior leader Debi Prasad Mishra, as stated in a party communiqué.
Previously, Patnaik had assembled a 15-member committee to coordinate district activities in the absence of state office bearers, dissolving the former panel in the process. The new coordination committee underscored the importance of Patnaik touring across the state to motivate party members after the assembly election defeat to the BJP.
Patnaik has also urged leaders to stay engaged in public service and use social media to inform citizens about the party's initiatives. The committee, led by Mishra, met at Naveen Niwas to review party programs and suggested restructuring the organization, including its youth, students, and women's wings.
