The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has called for decisive action by the Indian government to safeguard Hindus and other minority groups amid escalating violence in Bangladesh. Several Hindu temples and businesses have been targeted since the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her subsequent flight to India.

VHP regional secretary Suresh Upadhyay stressed that India cannot ignore the plight of minorities in Bangladesh and urged global intervention to protect their rights. The VHP's appeal came during a press conference where Upadhyay reiterated India's historical role in aiding oppressed communities worldwide.

In the wake of deadly protests over a contentious job quota system, Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus was sworn in as head of Bangladesh's interim government. The VHP hopes for the rapid restoration of democracy and secular governance in Bangladesh.
