Uddhav Thackeray's Disappointing Delhi Visit

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray's recent visit to Delhi has ended without the assurance he sought to be the chief ministerial face of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) for the approaching Maharashtra assembly elections, the BJP stated on Friday.

Thackeray met with prominent Congress figures including Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Rahul Gandhi. Accompanied by his wife Rashmi and son Aditya, Thackeray returned to Mumbai late Thursday evening. Despite his efforts, Thackeray did not secure the chief ministerial promise he aimed for, according to BJP chief spokesperson Keshav Upadhye.

Senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan's announcement that a decision on the chief minister would be made post-elections added to Thackeray's disappointment. Upadhye stated that Thackeray's primary focus was personal political ambition, not Maharashtra's public interest. The Maha Vikas Aghadi has committed to contesting the polls united, with the Congress emerging as the primary player in seat negotiations.
