Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh alleged on Saturday that dismissed police inspector Sachin Waze directly reported to Uddhav Thackeray, while Anil Deshmukh frequently summoned him to his residence. Singh stated that such interference disrupted the department's hierarchy, emphasizing that political leaders often called officers for personal demands.

Sachin Waze’s reinstatement occurred under the directive of Anil Deshmukh and Uddhav Thackeray, according to Singh, who mentioned these details in his official statements. Singh expressed that not only was Waze involved, but other officers also faced similar calls, disrupting official lines of command and accusing Singh unjustly.

Moreover, Singh expressed doubts about Anil Deshmukh’s mental state, suggesting he may need psychiatric help. Deshmukh, on his part, accused Singh and Waze of fabricating corruption allegations under the directions of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, aiming to undermine the previous government. Deshmukh had resigned in April 2021 after Singh accused him of setting a monthly Rs 100 crore extortion target from Mumbai's bars and restaurants.

Both ruling and opposition parties are gearing up for the Maharashtra assembly polls later this year, with these allegations adding a complex layer to the ongoing political landscape. (ANI)
