Veteran IUML Leader Kutty Ahammed Kutty Passes Away at 71

Kutty Ahammed Kutty, a senior figure in the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) and former three-time MLA, passed away at 71 due to age-related ailments. Known for his tenure in the Local Self Government portfolio under the Oommen Chandy-led UDF government, Kutty was also a steadfast member of the IUML's state executive.

Kutty Ahammed Kutty, a veteran leader of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), has passed away at 71, according to family sources. The seasoned politician succumbed to age-related ailments at his residence in Tanur.

A three-term MLA, Kutty represented Tanur and Tirurangadi segments in the Kerala state Assembly and held the Local Self Government portfolio in the administration of former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. He had withdrawn from active politics following a car accident years ago.

His passing has been widely mourned across political lines. In his condolence message, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan described Kutty as a prominent political leader whose contributions as a minister and assembly member will be long remembered.
