Son of Senior YSRCP Leader Arrested in Alleged Land Scam

Andhra Pradesh Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested J Rajeev, son of senior YSRCP leader J Ramesh. The arrest, connected to a land scam related to the AgriGold ponzi scheme, prompted allegations of political vendetta from Rajeev’s family and criticism from other YSRCP leaders against the NDA government.

Andhra Pradesh Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Tuesday arrested J Rajeev, the son of senior YSRCP leader and former minister J Ramesh, over an alleged land scam.

ACB officials raided the opposition leader’s residence in Vijayawada and seized documents related to land irregularities in the AgriGold ponzi scheme, which defrauded many. Revenue Minister A Satya Prasad presented evidence implicating Ramesh’s family in the scam during a press conference at the secretariat.

In response, J Ramesh condemned his son's arrest, alleging it was a politically motivated act by the N Chandrababu Naidu-led NDA government. He urged the government to focus on fulfilling its election promises instead of targeting his family. Other YSRCP leaders also criticized the arrest, calling it a diversionary tactic.
