Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, along with his Cabinet colleagues, attended the 'At Home Reception' organized by Governor RN Ravi at the Raj Bhavan on Thursday.
Stalin's attendance was crucial, as the DMK had previously declared no party representation due to their longstanding disputes with the Governor. The DMK's allies, including Congress, had also pledged to boycott the event, criticizing the Governor for actions perceived as detrimental to state interests.
Finance Minister Thangam Thenarasu noted the ideological differences but emphasized the importance of respecting the Governor's office. Despite political tensions, the chief minister honored the invite, presenting a shawl and book to the Governor. The event featured participation from other state officials and included cultural programs and community feasts in temples, marking the Independence Day celebrations.
