In a sharp critique, the Congress on Friday targeted Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar over his controversial remarks, which implied that a person in a constitutional position was fueling a narrative aimed at harming India's economy. This came in direct response to comments by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi.
Gandhi had previously raised concerns about the credibility of market regulator SEBI following allegations against its chairperson. Addressing these issues, Vice President Dhankhar, without naming Gandhi, claimed that invoking the Supreme Court’s jurisdiction to address such matters was worrisome.
Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate also criticized Dhankhar's comments, highlighting severe issues like unemployment, inflation, and economic inequality, stressing it was unfair to criticize PM Modi in such a manner.
