Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday welcomed the announcement of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly election and emphasized that the polls will further cement the democratic foundations of the region, while paving the way for substantial development.
Shah also lauded the announcement of Haryana's assembly elections, highlighting the BJP government's decade-long track record of effective governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
He urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to participate actively in the elections. Shah emphasized that a significant voter turnout would enable the formation of a government committed to peace, development, and opportunities for young people. He expressed confidence that Haryana voters will continue to support the BJP's vision for a prosperous state.
The Elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the first since the abrogation of Article 370, will be conducted in three phases starting September 18. Haryana's assembly polls will occur on October 1, with results announced on October 4.
