The first direct communication between Yunus and Modi followed the Nobel Laureate's swearing-in after the ouster of Sheikh Hasina's government amid street violence. Modi echoed India's concerns about the safety of Hindus and minorities in Bangladesh during his Independence Day speech.
Yunus promised to safeguard every citizen and accepted Modi's invitation to join the Third Voice of Global South Summit. Both leaders emphasized strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation for regional peace and prosperity.
