Initially, Thaksin's parole was scheduled to end at the month's close. However, it will now conclude this Sunday, as part of a royal amnesty extended to well-behaved prisoners in celebration of King Maha Vajiralongkorn's birthday last month.

The general pardon aims to recognize the good conduct of prisoners and reflects the king's gesture of mercy and compassion.
