In a significant development ahead of the Haryana assembly elections, the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) has witnessed the resignation of four of its MLAs, sources confirmed on Saturday.
Anoop Dhanak, Ram Karan Kala, Devender Babli, and Ishwar Singh have quit the party, citing personal reasons for their decisions. Their departure comes as the Election Commission declared that Haryana would conduct assembly polls in a single phase on October 1, with results slated for announcement on October 4.
The JJP had initially secured 10 seats in the 2019 assembly polls and formed a coalition government with the BJP. However, the alliance dissolved in March following the appointment of Nayab Singh Saini as Chief Minister, replacing Manohar Lal Khattar. The recent resignations signal a tumultuous period for the JJP as it gears up for the upcoming elections.
