Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren spoke out on Sunday regarding the 'bitter humiliation' he faced within the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). He revealed that he is considering three options: forming a new political outfit, retiring from politics, or finding a new ally.
His statements came shortly after arriving in Delhi and amidst speculations regarding a shift to the BJP. Current Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren accused the BJP of attempting to 'poach' JMM MLAs and sow discord within society.
BJP leader Babulal Marandi claimed this marked the beginning of JMM's downfall, suggesting the party had strayed from its ideological roots. Champai Soren's account of his removal as CM includes abruptly cancelled government events and exclusion from party meetings, which deeply hurt his self-respect.
Champai Soren announced that his tenure as chief minister had benefited various societal groups. He stressed that this was a personal battle and not intended to harm the party, which he claimed had been nurtured with 'blood and sweat'.
Party senior leader Mithilesh Thakur assured that internal issues would be resolved within the JMM family.
