Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav lashed out at the central government over its policy of lateral entry into top government positions, branding it a 'big conspiracy' against the country. Yadav claimed that this move is designed to strip reservation and rights from marginalized communities such as the Pichhde, Dalit, and Alpsankhyak (PDA).

'The time has come to launch a nationwide movement against the conspiracy being hatched by the BJP to place its ideological allies in high government positions through the back door in UPSC,' Yadav stated on social media platform X. He called for the immediate withdrawal of the lateral entry policy, arguing it is not in the national interest.

Yadav further alleged that the BJP aims to keep ordinary citizens confined to lower-ranked jobs while reserving top positions for its supporters. He called upon youth and officials to join a new movement starting on October 2, if the policy isn't withdrawn. This sentiment was echoed by Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, who accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of subverting the Constitution by appointing public servants via the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) instead of the traditional UPSC route.
