Former Minister Abdul Haq Khan Returns to PDP

Former Jammu and Kashmir minister Abdul Haq Khan rejoined the PDP two years after resigning. He had served as minister in the PDP-BJP coalition government and distanced himself after the government fell in 2018. He was re-inducted in the presence of party chief Mehbooba Mufti due to his ill health.

Former Jammu and Kashmir minister Abdul Haq Khan rejoined the People's Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday, marking his return to the party after a two-year hiatus.

Khan, who had served as the minister for rural development, panchayati raj, and law and justice in the PDP-BJP coalition, stepped away from the party following the collapse of the state government in 2018.

His re-induction into the party was conducted in the presence of PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, who visited Khan's residence given his current state of ill health, according to a party spokesperson.

Khan was twice elected to the legislative assembly from the Lolab constituency in Kupwara district, first in 2008 and again in 2014.
