Opposition Congress to Protest Chhattisgarh MLA Devendra Yadav's Arrest

Yadav’s arrest on August 17 relates to the Balodabazar arson case linked to a Satnami community demonstration. Congress leaders argue that Yadav's implication is an attempt by the Vishnu Deo Sai government to obscure its shortcomings in maintaining law and order.

Leader of Opposition Charan Das Mahant has declared ongoing demonstrations in all districts and plans to raise the issue with the state governor. Congress MLAs recently visited Yadav, who remains in judicial custody at Raipur Central Jail. The party intends to hold press conferences on August 22, preceding the protests.
