Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday criticized the Congress for its pre-poll alliance with the National Conference (NC) for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections.
Yadav questioned whether this partnership could lead to a return of stone-pelting and unrest in the region. The assembly polls, set to occur in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1, will announce results on October 4.
NC chief Farooq Abdullah declared this alliance, which comes after the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019. Yadav accused the Congress of abandoning constitutional values for vote bank politics, highlighting the NC's controversial history and its advocacy for talks with Pakistan.
